ইউক্যালিপটাস একটি ভাল কাঠ গাছের চারা।
এটি একটি বিদেশী জাতের কাঠ। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশের কোথাও কোথাও এটি বানিজ্যিকভাবে চাষ করা হয়। এই গাছের কাঠ বিক্রয় করে বানিজ্যিকভাবে লাভবান হওয়া যায়। ইউক্যালিপটাস এটি দ্রুত বর্ধনশীল একটি কাঠ গাছ এবং খুব বেশী ডাল পালা ছড়ায়না। খুব একটা জায়গাও দখল করেনা। ক্ষেতের আইল, পতিত জমির ধারে, রাস্তার ধারে, পুকুর কিংবা জলাশয়ের পাড়ে চাইলে অতি সহজেই এটি রোপন করা যায়। খুব বেশী পরিচর্যারও প্রয়োজন পড়েনা। ফলে অল্প খরচে বেশী লাভবান হওয়ার সুযোগ রয়েছে।
গাছ :
বেশ লম্বা হয়। এর ৬০০ টিরও বেশি প্রজাতি রয়েছে। ভারত ছাড়াও উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা এবং দক্ষিণ ইউরোপেও এর চাষ হয়। এই গাছটি সাধারণ মাটি এবং জলবায়ুতে চাষ হয় এবং গড় তাপমাত্রা ৩০ থেকে ৩৫ ডিগ্রি পর্যন্ত হলে ভাল হয়। দৈর্ঘ্যের কারণে এটি মাটির অধিক গভীরতায় রোপণ করা হয়। খুব সহজেই ১ একর জমিতে প্রায় ৫০০ চারা রোপণ করা যায়। এটি চাষের জন্য মাটি প্রস্তুত করতে খুব বেশী ব্যয় হয় না। পরিণত বয়সে বাজারে এর এক একটি গাছের দাম প্রায় ২০ থেকে ৩০ হাজার টাকায় বিক্রয় করা যায়।

It can be commercially profitable by selling the timber of this tree. Eucalyptus is a fast-growing timber tree and spreads a lot of branches. It does not require much space. If you want to plant it by the side of the field, fallow land, along the road, or near a pond or water body, it can be planted very easily. It does not require much care. As a result, there is an opportunity to earn more profit at low cost.
Tree:
It’s a tall tree, with more than 600 varieties found worldwide. Apart from India, it’s cultivated in North and South Africa, as well as Southern Europe. It thrives in typical soil and weather conditions, particularly when it’s 30 to 35 degrees Celsius. Due to its height, it’s planted deep in the ground. You can plant around 500 seedlings per acre without needing extensive soil preparation. When fully grown, each tree can sell for about 20 to 30 thousand taka in the market.
