জাত পরিচিতিঃ
এই আমের উদ্ভাবন প্রথমে থাইল্যান্ডে হয়। তাই থাই আম হিসেবেই পরিচিতি পায় দ্যা কিং অব চাকাপাত। আমের কালার কাচা অবস্থায় সবুজ থাকলেও আম পাকার আগে পুরোপুরি লাল বর্ণ ধারণ করে।যা সকল মানুষকে অন্য আমের থেকে বেশি আকৃষ্ট করে থাকে। এটি খাটো জাতের একটি আম গাছ। ফলে ছাদ বাগানের জন্য বেশ উপযোগী। অধিকাংশ আম ৫০০-৮০০ গ্রামের উপরে হয়ে থাকে। অনেক সময় দেখা যায় এক একটি আমের ওজন ১০০০-১৪০০ গ্রাম পর্যন্ত হয়। তবে আমের ওজন নির্ভর করে গাছের বয়স ও একটি গাছে কতটি আম ধরেছে তার উপর।
চাষাবাদঃ
বাংলাদেশের আবহাওয়া এই জাতের আম চাষের জন্য বেশ সহনশীল। ছাদ কৃষিতে ও মাঠ কৃষিতে সফলতার সাথে এই জাতের আম চাষ করে সহজেই লাভবান হওয়া যায়। তবে বাংলাদেশে এই আমের ব্যাপক প্রচলন এখনও ঘটেনি। ফলে অনেক তরুণ উদ্যোগক্তা ছাদ কৃষি করে বেশ সফলতা পেয়েছেন বলে খবরে জানা যায়। সুতরাং ড্রাম বা টবে ক্ষুদ্র পরিসরেও এই জাতের আমের গাছ লাগিয়ে অতি অল্প সময়ে লাভবান হওয়ার সুযোগ রয়েছে। ফলনও বেশ ভাল। একটি গাছে দুই থেকে আড়াই বছরের মধ্যে ফল ধরে।
